The Hemispheric Council


The body responsible for the ASF methodology and programming is the Hemispheric Council (HC), constituted in May 2002. Those organizations that are members of the WSF International Council (IC) that have a presence in the Americas form the HC. The HC agreed to create an operative secretariat, based in Quito, under the responsibility of IC member organizations with presence in Ecuador and the Ecuador Chapter of the WSF.

The Hemispheric Council has held four live and one online meetings between May 2002 and June. Four commissions have been constituted for the preparation of the ASF: Methodology and programming, Regional relations, Resources, and Communication and culture. To date, the HC consists of over 30 participating organizations, who are members of the IC, sub-regional and thematic Forums
